Many houses I go to still nowadays in 2008 have bathroom decor from last century and I think some of them may even have artifacts in them. Bathrooms should be a vocal point of your home and the first place you should try adding to if needed. One of the first things and easiest changes you can make to your bathroom is to change the sink, this requires minimal work and destruction so it’s a great first project to get the ball rolling.

Now for those of you who love Home Depot you share a common interest with me because I absolutely love the place and all of the renovation products and materials talked about in this article will be able to be purchased from Home Depot. They have basically everything you could think of and it’s a great place to start the home renovation journey.

Back to the original topic which is sinks, you’ll want to find a sink that places you into this century and has a modern yet clean look to it. I have gone through and looked at the sinks presented on the Home Depot website and have found two great sinks that I think are not only modern and clean looking but very affordable and well designed.

The first sink is a 16 inch round black marble look vessel sink which sells for only $110.00. It’s modern in design but isn’t too flashy so fits right into the contemporary feel as well and I think it’s a real classy look. They offer a full three year guarantee on the sink so it shouldn’t break at all and seems to be built strong. The deep round styled sinks are becoming more and more popular with people lately and if you’re selling your home anytime soon then this would be a great selling feature because as you know bathrooms and kitchens sell houses.

The second choice I’d like to show you today is a very modern looking designer sink and is a chrome vessel sink that’s also 16 inches. It comes with all the same guarantees as the first sink and costs $175.00. This sink is my favorite out of the two but I suppose you’d need the right decor already established in your bathroom for this type of sink to match. If however, you’re redesigning your entire bathroom and need to change everything then choosing chrome fixtures can add lots of flare as well as value.

One thing I try to always make sure I include when choosing materials and products for your home is resell value and I try to make sure all pieces selected will retain or increase the value of your home. If you have any recommendations or anything in particular to be written about don’t be afraid to email me, I’ll leave my email at the bottom of the post for you in case you’d like to contact me.

I plan on creating a very interactive blog that is filled with great resources and pictures to help you renovate your home. Most of the renovations will be cosmetics and small projects which don’t call for heavy demolition or cost. The goal is to help make your home more modern and sellable and move it into this century with great products.
