For some projects around the house it’s a lot more cost efficient if you can complete the job on your own often saving more then double what you spent which is an enormous amount. When talking about laying tiles it’s rather simple yet labor costs a lot and you’ll pay 2-3 times as much in labor costs as you do for the actual ceramic tiles. It’s not an exact science either and if you follow these eight steps then you should be well on your way to laying your first ceramic tile floor.

1.	Determine the layout of how the tiles will all be set-up.
2.	Apply the adhesive.
3.	Lay the tiles down as you planned in the layout.
4.	Remove the spacers.
5.	Let the adhesive set in overnight and typically for 24 hours.
6.	Cut the tiles.
7.	Apply the grout.
8.	Seal the grout.

Although I haven’t gone into much detail you can see the eight simple steps to laying down ceramic tiles. Now if after reading these tips you feel you can lay down your own ceramic tiles and save yourself a bundle of money then you should visit RONA for the complete detailed guide to the eight steps.

Kitchens are one room in most households that usually have a lot of daily traffic moving through it and it’s important to maintain a functional kitchen. Sometimes your kitchen will just not be functional in its current state and this could be because of bad designing or the age of the house. Either way though the kitchen isn’t as functional as it should be and by renovating it you could be improving many things about it.I’d like to state my five practical reasons why renovating your kitchen is a good idea and I’m positive I could write over a hundred reasons but for the sake of my fingers well keep it down to five.

1.	Increase the homes value.
2.	Improve upon the aesthetic.
3.	Improve the overall look and appeal.
4.	Increase storage space and functionality.
5.	To move your kitchen into this century.

All five reasons are very simple and a practical reason why improving your kitchen is a smart decision. Although the costs upfront do sting a little it can be affordable depending on how much of the work you can do yourself. I will write some guides on some projects you could do on your home like laying tiles and changing cabinets which should help you out a lot.

Kitchen improvements are one of the first things potential homebuyers look at when their looking to purchase a home and if you have the best kitchen on the block then chances are you’re going to be the first house off the market with full asking price or higher. Kitchens and bathrooms sell homes and everything else is just an added luxury but without a clean and well designed kitchen you’re moving yourself into a different market somewhat. If you perceive your house as needing work you’ll be attracting the home flipper type of person instead of the home buyer who typically pays a lot more then a home flipper.

Above is a picture of a kitchen I could only dream of owning but I wanted to share it with you guys because I think the colors are amazing. The lights and trim work around the top of the walls is really nice and custom as well which I like. Not to fancy but still enough to pull you into this century. Now I know most kitchens aren’t this size, mine included, but you can work off of designs to fit your own kitchen very easily with a few simple measurements.

Kitchens are one of my favorite rooms in the house to work on because there is always someway to change how it looks if you want and many ways are cost effective. Even changing accessories can offer you a great new feel to the room which well talk about more in later discussions.
