You can make the outdoors just as nice as the indoors of your home with only spending minimal money and equipping your yard with some outdoor accessories. There are literally hundreds of way to make the outside of your home stand out from others but I have gone ahead and chosen my favorite accessories for your viewing.

The first accessory is a pergolas, which is an iron sought hoop fence. They come in standard size but can be made to custom orders depending on your needs which is why I like this product.

For those with the need for a more useful fence rather then a fence to beautify your yard you’ll be looking more at the estate fencing options for your yard. This fence is used for keeping people and animals off your yard and still looks nice at the same time which is a huge plus.

Last but not least every yard needs a gazebo, whether it’s just for show and to sit in and relax or if it’s because you live in a region infested with bugs, you need one. Gazebos are gorgeous and stand out in anybodies yard nicely, they make great gifts for the hubby as well.

Garden is a fun and rewarding pastime. However it can also become rather expensive. Here are some simple tips that will work wonderfully for anyone that is gardening on a budget.

When you are dividing your plants share some of your extras with your friends and family and then hopefully they would share some of their extras with you.You could trade seeds with your friends or neighbors. You could also look online to see if there are any seed exchange groups on the Internet for you to join.

If you are on a budget for you garden you should pass on purchasing the starter plants and grow everything that you are hoping to plant from seeds.

If you do decide to purchase plants from a greenhouse you can reuse the pots that they came in.

Creating a compost pile can save you a bunch of money when it is time to plant your gardens.

Check out some garage sales. You never know when you are going to going to come across some nice gardening equipment for a really great price.

Buy your trees or shrubs in the fall as they are very likely to be on sale.

When you are planting something in a large pot you can utilize packing peanuts to lessen the overall weight of the pot and you will also end up using less soil. You could also use paper egg cartons to lessen the amount of dirt in the pot and an additional benefit of this is that the egg carton will add additional moisture to the soil.

You can harvest your own seeds from the things that you plant and you can make use of rainwater by setting out containers and collecting rainwater to use on your garden. You can utilize small plastic knives and a permanent marker to create plant markers for your garden.

You could join Freecycle.org and post a request for seeds or gardening equipment that you might be needing. You could also check with local greenhouses toward the end of the growing season to see if they have anything that is left over. You might be able to find some nice plants at a discount.

You can start your seedlings in a paper egg carton. All you need to do is cut them apart when you are all set to start your garden. The egg carton will disintegrate gradually and will help the plants retain moisture.

These are just a few suggestions that you can follow if you are working with a budget for your gardening. It is very possible to have a bountiful garden without having to spend and arm and a leg.

The origins of miniature gardening can be traced back to Japan because many people there loved to garden but did not have enough room to have a full size garden. A miniature garden is designed to look very natural and smaller then is actually is. There are three basic principles that one needs to follow in order to grow a miniature garden. You need to have an idea as to the purpose of your garden, you need to know the proper way to make your garden appear larger then it actually is and you need to know the importance of water to your garden. If you are well aware of these basic principles you are well on your way to creating a beautiful miniature garden.

When you are creating a miniature Japanese garden you need to give it a purpose. When you are in the process of creating your garden it is incredibly important that you are positive about the type of statement that your garden is going to make. The overall purpose of a miniature Japanese garden is not to create a beautiful garden but to create a simple garden that coveys a story. Rocks and gravel are used as symbols to tell the gardeners story. Another essential detail to creating a miniature garden is to make the garden appear to be larger then it actually is.

When you are creating a miniature garden you need to make the garden appear to be larger then is really is. One example you can utilize is if a plant is normally large you can purchase the smallest of that particular plant and position it at the back part of your garden. You could also position rocks in your garden to appear as if they are a gently sloping mountain. Miniature gardens are generally created around one focal point. If you have studied Japanese miniature gardens at all you will know that they are not overcrowded. They are simple and uncluttered. Now you are prepared to deal with the water.

Water is a big part of creating a Japanese garden and your garden is really not finished without it. In Japanese culture water represents the passing of time. If you think about is water really begins the story that you want your garden to convey.

A miniature garden can create a small bit of serenity even if you do not have a lot of room to work with in your backyard. This is only a small introduction to the art of Japanese miniature gardening. Reading some books or looking up more information about these unique gardens will have you creating a beautiful story in no time at all.

No matter if this is your first year gardening or if you have been gardening for years being familiar with planting zones is essential to your garden being a success. Why is knowing about planting zones so important? If you are well aware of planting zones you will be able to select the proper plants for your zone and not choose things that will not grow well in your particular climate.

There are a total of eleven different growing zones in the United States. The United States and the southern parts of Canada are separated into USDA plant hardiness zones. There is normally about ten degrees difference between each of the planting zones. Planting zones are decided by the average low temperature of the area so the colder the location the smaller the zone numberThe zone that your area is in is not a growing restriction that tells you want you can grow in your area. It is however a good indicator as to what is going to grow the best in the area that you live in. With a little extra special care you can successfully grow a plant that is classified in a different planting zone in the planting zone that you happen to live in.

You will be able to get some very useful information from seed dealers and greenhouses as to what varieties of flowers and vegetables are going to perform the best in your planting zone. You should keep in mind what type of soil and what amount of sunlight that your plants will need for your garden to be successful. You also need to pay close attention to the coldest weather that the plant can handle.

It is very simple to determine the warmest and coolest planting areas around your home. All you need to do is walk around your home and pay close attention to where the sun hits your home. These areas of your home are referred to as microclimates and these are the places that you will most likely to be able to successfully plant something that is outside of your designated climate zone. A longer planting time is another excellent benefit to microclimates.

If you want to be a master gardener you need to educate yourself on planting zones and what plants will grow best where. This way you will be able to select that flowers, trees and vegetables that will perform the best in your planting zone.

With spring arriving and the weather changing for the better this past week what better time then to start tending to your garden. People every year spend all spring getting their gardens ready for the summer and it can take a lot of work especially in the hot sun. If you’ve never gardened before then spring is the perfect opportunity for you to get some fresh air and try it out. It doesn’t take any skill at all it just can be tiresome because of the constant digging in soil.Choosing flowers is a more a personal thing and although I could recommend hundreds of flowers for you to choose from it wouldn’t really matter too much because you’re going to choose the flowers you want. There are a few things you want to keep in mind when buying flowers though and that includes the following.

- Pick flowers that have lots of color and don’t stick with the same color choose a broad range of different colors when deciding.

- Choose flowers of different sizes to mix the feel of the garden up and to make it not look boring.

- Make sure to set and follow a budget and make sure to include flowers, soil and materials when setting the budget as all things will need to be purchased unless you have leftovers from previous years.

All three of those things are important to remember when shopping this spring for your flowers. I can’t stress enough that gardening isn’t simply planting a few flowers and then leaving them alone all summer. You need to constantly water them everyday to ensure they remain healthy and don’t die on you. Nothing is more dreadful looking then a big dead garden in front of you house. Try your best to water the plants daily and they should be fine as long as there protected from animals.

Above is a wonderful picture of a well done garden. If you have any pictures of your own garden that you’d like me to put on the website don’t be afraid to ask as I’d love to add them on to the blog.

-Scott
